Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Rank Tracker ("we," "us," or "the application") collects, uses, and protects information. Rank Tracker is an internal SEO reporting tool operated by Marcarelli Consulting.

Who this applies to

Rank Tracker is an internal tool used by authorized Marcarelli Consulting staff. It is not offered as a public service. This policy applies to authorized users who sign in with a Marcarelli Consulting account.

Information we collect

The application collects and stores the following:

  • Account information: Email address and authentication tokens used to sign in.
  • Client and keyword configuration: Website domains, keywords, target locations, and reporting settings entered by authorized staff.
  • Ranking data: Search result positions retrieved from third-party SEO data providers, stored to enable historical reporting.
  • Google OAuth tokens: When a user connects their Google account to sync data to a Google Sheet, we store the resulting OAuth access and refresh tokens in encrypted form.
  • Google account email: The email address of the connected Google account, so users can see which account is currently connected.

How Google user data is used

When a user grants the application access to Google Sheets, the application uses that access solely to:

  • Read the metadata of the Google Sheet the user has specified (to locate or create the correct tab).
  • Write keyword ranking summaries to that sheet.

We do not read any other files in the user's Google Drive, we do not access personal email or contacts, and we do not analyze the contents of the sheet beyond the tab we write to. Google user data is never used for advertising, sold, or shared with third parties.

How we protect information

  • OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Data is stored in a private Supabase database with row-level security policies restricting access to authorized accounts.
  • All connections use HTTPS.
  • Only authorized Marcarelli Consulting staff can sign in.

Data sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent any user data to third parties. Ranking summaries written to a user's own Google Sheet are visible only to accounts that user has shared the sheet with.

Data retention

Client and ranking data is retained for as long as needed to support historical reporting. Users can request deletion of any data by contacting the address below. Users can revoke the application's access to their Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Third-party services

The application relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase (authentication and database)
  • Vercel (application hosting)
  • Google (Sheets API for exporting reports)
  • DataForSEO (search ranking data)
  • Anthropic (report summary generation)

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
